gamma knife epilogue
when the neurosurgeon was getting ready to fit the tourqemada designed frame onto my giant noggin, he said “you know how doctors and nurses always say ‘this won’t hurt’? well, i’m not going to lie to you, this is going to hurt, the lidocaine is only going to cut the pain by about 85%, and you’re going to have a couple of shiners because of the lidocaine.”
after they had installed the frame, i asked them to shoot a little more around the front left contact point because it still hurt like an mf’er. anyway, all that stuff had to go somewhere and it just drains into the soft tissue around your eyes, ie hello shiners.
i look like i’ve been stung by bees, but at least it doesn’t feel like it.
btw, our azaleas are really popping this year.
